Product Description
BumpSkid for Can-Am Spyder RT, RT-S & RT Limited 2014–2019 — SPY-147
The BumpSkid is a front-end protection upgrade for 2014–2019 Can-Am Spyder RT, RT-S, and RT Limited models. It works as both a lower bumper and a skid plate, helping protect the front underside of your Spyder from road debris, dips, tire treads, small impacts, and everyday road hazards.
Made from tough, slick 3/8" black HDPE — High Density Polyethylene, the BumpSkid replaces the small factory skid plate with a wider protective surface. It helps protect the area from the nose to the suspension, including the leading edge of the frame, while adding a clean spoiler-style look to the front of the Spyder.

protection
a good thing. simple installation.

Well made, mounts up solid.
I used my car ramps to do this but id did have to jack it a few more inches to fit the drill into a couple of the rear holes. Like some other users said add socket(s) to the rear holes so you don't hit a hose. Take your time and read the instructions and you'll be happy.

Peace of mind
Has already saved the front end several times

2016 RTL Bumpskid
Works as designed. Have heard it used a few times going over speed bumps and exiting onto streets where the gutter is a little deep.

BumpSkid Install Trick ...
Instructions stated that caution should be used in drilling two of the holes through the steel support as there are radiator hoses above this location. I simply dropped a deep-well socket over my drill bit to limit the depth of my drill bit. Install was easy but you will have to lift the front to your Spyder to make it easier. The previous owner had really scraped up the underside of his (now my) Spyder. The BumpSkid does a fine job of covering up the previous owners grindings. Great first Farkle on my 2015 RTL.

Bump Skid
I'm glad I have it on and I certainly know it's needed because the bottom of my 2014 RTs is all scraped up. It looks a bit wide but ok.

RT Bumpskid
easily installed in less than an hour. nut clips are tight and looks good, now I have to remember the front end is about 2 inches lower to keep from wearing it down too soon!!

Love it!
Looks like original part and my mechanic is amazed how well it fits. He''s a HD guy and learning quick about these machines.

JUST AS ADVERTISED, IF YOU HAVE A RT, YOU GOTTA GET ONE!
New to the Can Am experience but have done a bunch of reading and it was almost a no brainer not to get one of these things. Definitely much more protection than what was there to begin with, and with the ground clearance being so low, it is just a matter of time before it pays for itself. Took my time, read and re-read the instructions to complete a professional installation. Great Product!
